Bandet spiller amerikansk musikk, fra tradisjonell rock og blues til rå country, spedd opp med enkelte egenproduserte låter.

Musikerne har årelang erfaring fra turnevirksomhet i inn- og utland, og har også gjort tjeneste på mang en studioproduksjon

Inspirasjonskildene er mange, fra de gamle countrymesterne til Grateful Dead, Ry Cooder og Steve Earle, bare for å ha nevnt noen få..

Bandet har sine geografiske røtter i Lillestrøm, men nå til dags er
det bare Terje og Roger som bor i det området. Jan har flyttet til Sande i Vestfold, mens Pelle holder til nord på Finnskogen.

Enkelte lurer på hva BB står for, men det er det foreløpig ingen som veit. Når en forklaring er tilgjengelig vil vi poste den her.

Dette er musikk som appellerer både til hjertet og danseføttene.
Med sine mange år på veien i diverse sammenhenger, har dette bandet hundrevis av låter å velge mellom når de er ute på jobb.
Det er forsmedelig å måtte bruke uttrykket, men stilen kan vel best beskrives som rå "roots" musikk. Improvisasjonsgleden
sørger for at en enkelt låt aldri låter helt likt fra gang til gang.

FRA TRIO TIL KVARTETT

I mange år reiste BB Band rundt som trio, et reint bluesband frontet av grunnlegger Odd Reidar Lysne.
Da denne fikk helseproblemer ble det behov for vikarer som steppet inn på kort varsel. Ofte var Roger vikaren, andre ganger Pelle. Da Odd Reidars helsetilstand endret seg til det verre, fikk Terje og Jan ideen om å utvide til 4-manns besetning på mer permanent basis. Dette skjedde seinhøstes 2008. Fra å være et reint bluesband ble bandet mer fleksibelt og spiller nå et bredt reportoar av amerikansk rock, country og blues. Overgangen gikk smertefritt. De to nye gitaristene er flasket opp på samme musikalske brygg, og Terje og Pelle har spilt sammen i VILLSVINTRIOEN siden 1991, der Jan også har levert fra tid til annen.

BB BAND

The band plays American music, traditional rock , rowdy country and some blues, and a few of their own tunes . They are an experienced combo, who have toured Norway and other countries in various settings, and the musicians have also done studio work for other artists over the years.

Their inspirations are many. The old American country masters, The Grateful Dead, Ry Cooder and Steve Earle just to name a few.

Originally the band hailed from Lillestrøm, a suburb of Oslo, Norway. Roger and Terje Odin are the only ones in the band who live there these days, as Jan has moved south to the small town of Sande by the Oslo Fjord, and Pelle lives a bit farther north out in the woods of Elverum by the Swedish border.

A lot of people wonder what the letters BB in the band's name mean. The answer is nobody knows anymore. If there was a meaning to it, it certainly has been forgotten by now. We'll post it here if an explanation should appear.

The goal of the band's music making is to move people's hearts and feet. With their broad experience as a foundation they have hundreds of songs to choose from when they're out on the road. At the risk of using clichés, their style is best characterized by the term "Roots Music", and a single tune doesn't sound the same from one gig to the next, thanks to their love for improvisation.

FROM TRIO TO QUARTET

The BB Band travelled around as a pure blues trio for many years, fronted by founder Odd Reidar Lysne. As he encountered health issues, the band needed stand ins who could show up on short notice. Sometimes Roger did the job, sometimes Pelle. When Odd Reidars health took a turn for the worse, Jan and Terje got the idea of expanding the band into a quartet, using both guitarists on a permanent schedule.

That happened in late autumn 2008, and the former blues trio became more flexible in their musical directions as a quartet, flying high between the genres of country, rock and roll and the blues. The transition went very smoothly, as the two guitarists have grown up on the same kind of musical brew. Terje Odin and Pelle have played together in Villsvintrioen since 1991, where Jan also joined in from time to time. All of a sudden they had the repertoire of the two bands combined.
